Callery-Judge
Grove has been in business since 1962, growing 17 varieties
of citrus fruit on 4,000 contiguous acres. We
supply Indian River Grapefruit and a variety of oranges throughout
the country, as well as the export markets in Europe and Asia.
Located in Florida's Palm Beach County, the lower and warmer
end of the Indian River District, the Grove has a reputation
for excellence in quality fresh fruit.
For many years, Callery-Judge Grove has been an innovator in
water quality control and conservation.
For many, many years, an independent testing agency has monitored
the Grove's water each month for pesticides, nutrients and
coliforms. To ensure that the materials are absorbed by the
trees and not
leached into the ground water, frequent soil and plant tissue
analyses are conducted. For its entire existence, without
exception, the Grove has met its goal of returning its irrigation
water to the environment cleaner that it is received.
Callery-Judge Grove uses "least pesticide" methods
and is committed to ecologically responsible farming. Integrated
Pest Management (IPM) techniques and natural insect controls
allow us to keep pesticide use at an absolute minimum. The
Grove discontinued discretionary aerial spraying and equipped
all of
its ground equipment with electronic sensors and microcomputers
to measure each tree and apply only the minimum required amount
of spray and fertilizer.
These advanced techniques let us bring the world's highest
quality citrus fruit to you with the least possible effect
on scarce
environmental resources. Callery-Judge Grove is committed to
being a good
neighbor, a safe and rewarding place for our staff to work,
and an innovator in using every available technology to improve
our
environment and fruit. Quality fruit, responsible farming and
management are our goals.
